BEAUTY IN MY BROKENNESS
Chrysalis Theatre Company devised a new ensemble theater piece about depression and mental health, based on autobiographical stories and interviews. The play challenges stigma and brings to light the flaws in the mental health system here in New York City. The intention of the play is to create awareness, foster discussion, and hopefully to lead to real change.
We had an amazing group of talented women working on the project:
Karen Sklaire
Betsy Perez
Lisa Fernandez
Adina Taubman
Gabriela Kohen
Kelly O’Donnell directed.
Gabriela Kohen used improvisational and therapeutic techniques with the actors to develop the autobiographical material.
